Nokia stopped deliveries to Russia

Nokia has stopped the supply of its equipment in accordance with the sanctions. It is reported by Reuters.

The company said that they were ending cooperation with Russian partners in the supply of products due to the events in Ukraine. “This is a complex situation that is evolving rapidly, and we continue to assess it,” Nokia told reporters.

The Finnish manufacturer of network equipment cooperated with Russian operators MTS, VimpelCom (Beeline brand), Megafon and Tele2. The company was engaged, among other things, in the development of 5G infrastructure.

In November, Nokia, together with the Russian manufacturer of computing equipment Yadro, agreed to establish a joint venture to produce 4G and 5G base stations. Nokia licensed the software to a partner.

Earlier, IT professionals said that disabling the update function will not protect iOS and Android smartphone owners from remote blocking if companies decide to do so. Thus, Group-IB representative Igor Mikhailov noted that iOS and Android have features that allow you to block gadgets remotely.
