On Thursday night, one of the Twitter accounts that said it reported that the collective is “officially at cyber-war with the Russian government.” An hour later, Anonymus reported that they had taken down the website of the Russian propaganda channel RT News, which was publishing materials in English.

Several dozen minutes earlier, another Anonymous profile, which is followed by 6.4 million people, wrote that the collective was engaged in an operation against the Russian Federation. The actions target the Russian government, but added that “it is inevitable that the private sector is likely to suffer as well.” The account said that it is not speaking on behalf of the entire collective, but confirms that some Anonymous members have taken action against Russia.

Little later Anonymous also reported that Russian ISPs are having problems. It is about Com2Com, PTT-Teleport Moscow, Relcom and Sovam Teleport.

One Twitter user suggested that it might be limiting the communication of Russians protesting against Putin’s invasion of Ukraine. Anonymous denied and replied that it was intended to disrupt military data transmission. They also cited their earlier entry and added that they warned that this would happen, directly implying that they were behind the attack.

Ukraine calls on the cyberworld to mobilize
