Realme is another Chinese smartphone manufacturer that has hit the Polish market for quite a large part of it. The first device arrived on the Vistula River in April 2020, and today – as the data presented by the company shows – Realme is already in the top 3 smartphone brands in our country, recording an increase in sales (year on year) of 10,936%.
Realme 9 Pro and Pro +, the medium ones with a flagship touch
Now the Chinese manufacturer has presented in Poland new models from the numerical series – Realme 9 Pro and Realme 9 Pro +. Both are strong mediums, although in the case of the second model we already have a lot of features borrowed from flagships. Because – contrary to the almost identical name – both models differ significantly.
Let’s start with Realme 9 Pro, a slightly weaker model. The heart of the phone is Snapdragon 695 with support in the form of 6 or 8 GB of RAM. This is a mid-range chip, but with a lot of power reserve, which, combined with a fairly large RAM, should ensure a very decent work of the device in any situation. Data memory is 128 GB.
The smartphone screen has a diagonal of 6.6 inches with a refresh rate of up to 120 Hz, which allows for very smooth animations. Unfortunately, this is not an AMOLED panel, but an IPS LCD panel with a slightly worse quality of the displayed image. It’s a pity.
Of course, there was a set of three cameras – the main one with a resolution of 64 Mpix + wide-angle 8 Mpix + and an additional 2 Mpix webcam. A pleasant surprise – apart from the presence of all modules, including NFC or even a headphone jack – there is support for the 5G network. The whole is powered by a 5000 mAh battery with the possibility of quick charging with a power of 33 W.

Realme 9 Pro + is to be a smartphone for photography fans
During the presentation, Realme representatives repeatedly emphasized that while the company has not paid much attention to the quality of photos so far, this has changed in the case of Realme 9 Pro +. What’s more, the top model of this series was created with photography enthusiasts in mind. For now, we do not know how the smartphone will perform in practice, but the theory itself looks very promising.
The main Realme 9 Pro + camera is based on the Sony IMX 766 matrix with a resolution of 50 Mpix (with f / 1.8 lens), which is larger than the sensors used in many competing smartphones, which should positively translate into the quality of photos taken in low light conditions.
A pleasant surprise is the presence of not only electronic, but also optical image stabilization, which should have a very noticeable impact on the quality of photos taken in the absence of light. Realme emphasizes that software tricks will also help in this, especially the third generation of the Intelligent Noise Reduction Engine, which the manufacturer uses in its smartphones. The main camera is supported by two additional ones – 8 Mpix wide-angle and 2 Mpix macro camera.
The Realme 9 Pro + screen has a diagonal of 6.4 inches, which is 0.2 inches smaller than the non-plus version, which is quite counter-intuitive. In addition – despite the fact that it is a higher positioned model – it got a screen with a refresh rate not 120 Hz (like Realme 9 Pro), but 90 Hz. Fortunately, in this case, the manufacturer has already opted for a matrix made in the more appreciated AMOLED technology.
The MediaTek Dimensity 920 5G processor, in turn, is responsible for the work of the smartphone, which can boast much greater performance than the previously mentioned Snapdragon 695 in Realme 9 Pro. We also have 6 or 8 GB of RAM and 128 or 256 GB of data space. The whole will be powered by a 4500 mAh battery with support for very fast 60 W charging.

In addition, Realme also showed the 9i model, which works under the control of Snapdragon 680 (4 GB of RAM), has a 6.6 inch IPS screen with 90 Hz refresh and is powered by a capacious 500 mAh battery with support for 33 W charging.
