During a virtual press conference Samsung presented new smartphones from the Galaxy S series. Just like last year, the Koreans decided to launch three Galaxy models – S22 and S22 +, as well as the most efficient variant – Galaxy S22 Ultra.
Samsung Galaxy S22 and S22 +
Galaxy S22 and S22 have been light visual facelift. The side frames have been slimmed down and now evenly surround the display of the device. The screen itself is a perfectly flat glass pane, and a solid aluminum frame connects it to the rear panel (which is also covered with glass).
The display in the case of the Galaxy S22 model has 6.1 inchesand in the case of S22 + – 6.6 inches (S21 and S21 + were 6.2 and 6.7 inches respectively). Near the top of the screen you will find a small hole for the selfie camera.

On the back, instead of an island with cameras, there is a module slightly protruding from the housing, which smoothly connects to the device’s frame. The whole thing looks both minimalistic and aesthetic. When it comes to color versions, there are four variants to choose from:
- Phantom White (white),
- Phantom Black (black),
- Green (green),
- Pink Gold (pink).

Both smartphones have a phenomenal one 2x Dynamic AMOLED display with resolution FHD + and dynamic refresh rate (up to 120 Hz). The screen is also characterized by a very low response time, which is to be especially useful in mobile games.
Samsung Galaxy S22 + Samsung
An absolute novelty is made in process 4 nm lithographic system Exynos 2200. Samsung boasts not only its efficiency, but also advanced AI functions and even greater security (new smartphones have received the EAL4 + certificate)
When it comes to memory, there are two configurations to choose from:
- 8 GB RAM + 128 GB,
- 8 GB RAM + 256 GB.
There were also all of them necessary modules communications (there is also a 5G), there is under the screen ultrasonic fingerprint scannerand the housing is protected against water (IP68 certificate).

The only significant difference (apart from the diagonal) between variants of S22 and S22+ is the use of a faster module in the second model Wi-Fi 6e, which last year was reserved for the S21 Ultra variant.
The photographic possibilities are also quite interesting. The Koreans have equipped the Galaxy S22 and S22 + models with three cameras – the basic one 50 MP (Dual Pixel AF, OIS, F1.8), ultra wide angle 12 MP (F2.2) and 10MP telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom (OIS, F2.4).
In the front we find a selfie camera with a resolution of 10 MP and brightness f / 2.2.
The whole will be powered by a battery with a capacity 3700 mAh w the case of the smaller Galaxy S21 or 4500 mAh, when it comes to the larger Galaxy S22 +. So we have a slight regression compared to last year’s models, where the battery had 4000 mAh and 4700 mAh, respectively.
When it comes to charging technology, Samsung is still slightly behind the competition, although it is slowly starting to recover. Galaxy S22 + we will now charge by wire with with 45W (unfortunately the charger is sold separately). In turn, in the case of the S22, we are still doomed to 25W.
Both devices can also be charged wirelessly with a power of 25W.
Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra
While the S22 and S22 + models have only received cosmetic changes in design, in the case of the variant S22 Ultra we are dealing with a visual revolution. It can even be said that in terms of design, it is confusingly similar to the devices from the series Galaxy Note.
And there is no coincidence in all of this. It’s no secret that Samsung Completely ended the production of Galaxy Note smartphonesand the Galaxy S22 Ultra is to be a natural continuator of this line, the best proof of which is attach the S Pen stylus to the device.

It is true that the stylus was already supported by last year’s version of the Galaxy S21 Ultra, but it was not included with the device at that time. In the case of the S22 Ultra, things are different – The S Pen came in a box with a smartphoneand in its housing there is a special cavity in which we can hide the stylus.
Let’s go back to design. The Galaxy S22 Ultra is characterized by sharp edges, which are more rounded in the S22 and S22 + models. There is no traditional camera lens module on the rear panel. Instead, each camera is a separate module here. I must admit that I did not like this idea entirely – but I would prefer a visually more coherent island with lenses.
As befits the continuation of the Galaxy Note series, the new Galaxy S22 Ultra has a powerful screen 6.8 inch diagonal. It’s a display Dynamic AMOLED 2x with QHD + resolution and refreshing up to 120 Hz. Samsung also boasts of the high brightness of the display, which is supposed to reach 1750 rivets.

As in the S22 / 22 + models, we find here made in the lithographic process 4 nm Exynos 2200 processor, which is assisted by 8 or 12 GB RAM and 128/256/512 or 1TB GB memory for user data. We also have a 5000 mAh battery (45W charging).
Last year’s Galaxy S21 Ultra was real photographic giant. This year it is similar, although the camera has not lived to see any groundbreaking changes. There are four lenses here. This basic one has 108 Mpix resolution (F1.8) and has been equipped with optical image stabilization.
In addition, we have an ultra-wide angle camera (12 MP, F2.2) and two 10MP sensors with telephoto lenses with three and ten times zoom. In their case, there was also an optical image stabilization mechanism. What’s more, thanks to the combination of camera data, the maximum zoom (digital) in the Galaxy S21 Ultra is 100x (Space Zoom).
Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra Samsung
The Galaxy S22 series builds on the foundations of its predecessors, but it is difficult to talk about any revolution here. Samsung Galaxy S21 and even S20 owners have no major reasons to switch to one of this year’s smartphones. Unless we are talking about the strongest variant of the S22 Ultra, which has had the biggest changes and has become a continuation of the killed Galaxy Note series.
This does not change the fact that Samsung has once again presented hellishly strong smartphones, which in terms of performance and camera capabilities will probably again spread most of the Android competition. However, they will also spread the buyers – with their high price.
