Google Chrome refreshes its logo after eight years
At first glance, the changes may seem very subtle. “We simplified the main brand icon by removing shadows, correcting proportions and brightening colors to match Google’s more modern brand expression,” writes designer Elvin Hu on social media. “We also found that placing certain shades of green and red side by side caused unpleasant color vibrations, so we introduced a very subtle gradient to the main icon to soften this, making the icon more accessible,” explains Elvin Hu.
