Apple invented the ceramic laptop

The network found an Apple patent for a computer with a ceramic case. This is reported by Patently Apple.

A patent for the invention was found in the database of the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO). The described device is a laptop, the body of which is made of ceramics. In the document, the company’s engineers explained that the choice of case material is due to the introduction of touch buttons.

Judging by the images, there are perforations a few centimeters below the physical keyboard, under which there are sensors and LEDs. The button to turn on the computer is invisible – its visibility is provided by LEDs: “The array of pinholes is configured so that the button is visually invisible when it is not under a light source.”

Apple currently manufactures its computer cases from aluminum. In addition to ceramics, which are considered by the company’s specialists, engineers suggest using plastic. However, journalists believe that the release of a plastic laptop is unlikely, since Apple has previously produced such devices.

In the fall, it became known that Apple has patented the iMac computer, the body of which is made of a single piece of glass. The new device is a monoblock computer, consisting of a single piece of glass, curved towards the bottom.
