Jabra headphones are made of plastic, but the top is also covered with a rubber material, which significantly increases their durability. At least several times I had dropped one of the “fleas” on the concrete and each time they emerged victorious from this clash.

We keep the headphones in a small place plastic casewhich at the same time serves their purpose charging. Although at first glance it looks almost identical to that of the Elite 3 model, it seems to be more durable and less prone to scratching.

Both headphones have buttons that allow us to control the sound and receive voice calls. Importantly, the functions of these buttons can be personalized in the Sound + application.

Perhaps my biggest problem with the Jabra Elite 3 was that I couldn’t match these headphones to the shape of my ear – despite the use of many different earpieces. With the Elite 4 Active, this problem completely disappears. This is jone of the most comfortable TWS headphones, which I have had the opportunity to use. They are only second to the sensational Elite 85t model.

The tested headphones accompanied me during at least a dozen training sessions in the gym and I can honestly say that they can withstand a lot – even accidental stepping on, although I do not recommend testing their endurance in this way.

Jabra is bragging IP57 certificate. This means that the headphones are there waterproof and dustproof. It is true that we cannot swim in them, but they will be harmless due to heavy rain or accidental contact with a stream of water.

Jabra Elite 4 Active – SOUND QUALITY

Jabra Elite 4 Active, like the Elite 3 model, have been equipped with 6 mm transducer with a frequency response of 20-20,000 Hz. The headphones connect to other devices through the module Bluetooth in version 5.2. The device also supports codecs SBC and aptX.

So much for theory, and how do Jabra’s headphones fare in practice? Here I can basically copy an excerpt from my review of the Elite 3 model, as the sound quality is practically identical. The sound is juicy and selective. The bass is positively surprising, which usually works poorly in TWS in-ear headphones. There are basically no weak points here, because the treble and midrange are also doing quite well. Of course, taking the correction that we are talking about headphones for about PLN 500.

If we are not entirely satisfied with the predefined sound settings and we want, for example, to get rid of a bit of bass or boost the midrange, then we can do it using the application Sound + and built into it equalizer graphic (equalizer). It’s a simple tool, but the possibilities are quite big.

The advantage of the Elite 4 Active over the cheaper Elite 3 model is related primarily to presence ANC (Active Noise Control), i.e. active noise reduction. Jabra has already proved with the Elite 85t model that it offers one of the best ANC systems on the market and in this matter nothing changes. It is a pity that in the case of Elite 4 Active we cannot decide on our own to what extent we want to be cut off from the sounds of the environment. ANC can only be turned on or off completely.

Another issue that I do not understand is the lack of an automatic pause when removing the headphones from the ears. In the Elite 85t model, this function worked sensational, and the tested device was deprived of it.

Jabra Elite 3 – BATTERY

The built-in battery is another strong point of Jabra headphones. Allows you to approx. 7 hours of audio playback. This is not the end, because the included case allows us to charge the Elite 3 three times from 0 to 100 percent. This gives us an impressive 28 hours in total. However, I was hurt by the lack of a wireless charging function – this is another compromise in relation to the more expensive models of this manufacturer.

Jabra Elite 4 Active – SUMMARY

Jabra Elite 4 Active is undoubtedly one of the best-priced sports headphones on the market. For less than PLN 500, we get the offering device good sound quality, sensational ANC modeand water resistance and solid build quality. Unfortunately, the lower price forced the manufacturer to make a few compromises, such as the lack of an automatic pause function, no wireless charging, or some limitations related to the active noise reduction mode.
