The government intervened to remove the Confederation’s account from Facebook. Confederation wants more

Last week, he removed the Confederation profile, which was followed by over 670,000. people arguing that the profile does not follow established community standards. The government then announced an intervention in this matter with Meta, to which Facebook belongs after the change of name.

Facebook got a letter from the Polish government on the Confederation

At Friday’s press conference in the Sejm, Janusz Cieszyński, secretary of state responsible for digitization, announced the future of the case.

The Polish government has already informed Meta that we do not agree with this approach. We believe that the justification given is not genuine, because even though there was disinformation about vaccination that we as a government strongly do not support, the platform did not present any specific posts that caused the account deletion or transparently communicated public opinion why such a decision was made

– said Cieszyński. He added that he is against such action and believes that it should not be so.

Cieszyński also said that Facebook could have reacted more adequately to the situation, for example by tagging or deleting a specific post. The politician also believes that one does not have to look far to find profiles where similar content is the focus of the business.

In turn, whose representatives met with the government on Friday, believes that the reaction of the Polish authorities was inadequate to the situation. As the Confederation treasurer Michał Wawer wrote, “the government’s powerlessness over censorship on the Internet is more visible every day”.

The government’s strategy is to keep its fingers crossed for the European Union to regulate the functioning of social media before the profiles of subsequent political parties begin to disappear. (…) The Confederation was left alone

Wawer said in a short video.

Another Confederation profile was deleted by Facebook after seven hours

Confederation returned to Facebook, and its profile is currently followed by 16,000. people (as of January 14). This week, a profile of the Confederation Members’ Circle was also created, with content related to the activities of the party, not the general party, to appear. However, Facebook deleted the account seven hours after its creation.
