Xiaomi has taken up the development of two versions of the Black Shark 5 gaming smartphone. The well-known Chinese insider Digital Chat Station announced this in his Weibo account.
According to the specialist, the corporation has launched a new generation of Black Shark smartphones for gamers. The database contains two modifications of the device, codenamed “Katyusha” and “Patriot”. The author did not specify why the Chinese company chose these names. Most likely, the models will go on sale under the general name Black Shark 5.
The author of Digital Chat Station also noted that the flagship device will be based on the top-end Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor, have a battery with a capacity of 4600 mAh and JOYUI shell based on Android 12. According to insider Bald Panda, a premium version of the device called Black Shark 5 Pro will receive a 6.8-inch AMOLED screen with a resolution of 2K and a frequency of 144 hertz, as well as a 5000 milliampere-hour battery.
The release dates for the devices were not disclosed. Smartphones are expected to be introduced by the end of 2022.
The current smartphone of the Xiaomi gaming series is the Black Shark 4S Pro, which was released in the fall. The phone, which has a Snapdragon 888+ processor and 16 gigabytes of RAM, topped the AnTuTu ranking of the most powerful smartphones in October.
