If the temperatures are higher, check the basics. Put the laptop on a hard, flat surface. Make sure that nothing blocks ventilation grilles on the sides and the bottom of the housing. Sometimes it is enough to remove a pile of papers or books pawning the air outlet.

After a while, each laptop collects dust inside. These particles effectively block air flow, forcing the fan to work harder. Systematic cleaning of compressed air can work wonders.
