The Apple Corporation explained why the new iPhone 16e did not receive support for Magsafe magnetic charging. This was reported by the publication 9TO5MAC.

Media journalists referred to the IT auto John Gruby, who talked with representatives of the company. According to him, Apple said that the iPhone 16e was left without a quick wireless charging, since “the target audience of the smartphone is complete without it.” At the same time, many journalists called the absence of Magsafe with a key flaw of 16E.

Gruber added that the unnamed representative of the IT giant said that buyers of inexpensive smartphones are more likely to prefer wired charging. “Clients do not use induction charging at all,” John Gruber quoted the Apple’s source.

The Magsafe Standard appeared in 2020 and was first introduced in the smartphones of the iPhone 12 series. Using the magnet located under the body of the magnet, the accurate location of the charger is ensured. In addition, with Magsafe, Apple smartphones can be charged with a capacity of 25 watts, while without it – 7.5 watts.

“It is one thing if charging with a cable is a deliberate preference for buyers of the iPhone 16e. But if Apple thinks that her customers will be anyway only because they are used to loading a smartphone on the wire, they are not sure that this is a fair judgment, ”concluded 9TO5MAC journalists.
