Planetary robot or mixer? What is different and what to choose

Do you face a kitchen dilemma – mixer or planetary robot? Although both devices are mixed up to mix the components, the differences between them are significant.

Who likes to bake and cook, he knows that a good cake or cream is not only ingredients, but also a way of combining them. Manual whipping or mixing is the past – today we have two basic devices to choose from. But which one to choose?

Mixer – handy and universal

The mixer is the simplest and most popular solution. Small, light, easy to use. Basic models are simply a body with replaceable tips – dough hooks and whipping whisk. In addition, several speed levels and Turbo button – Ot, all philosophy.

Most mixers have a power of 300-500W. This is enough for basic tasks, but with heavier cakes there may already be a lack of strength. The plus is the possibility of mixing in any dish – from a small bowl to a large michael.

Planetar robot – a professional in the kitchen

The planetary robot is a completely different league. The name itself reveals its main advantage – a special movement of agitists, which not only rotate around its axis, but also make wheels along the walls of the bowl. Thanks to this, the mass is perfectly mixed, and the ingredients do not stick to the sides.

It is heavy equipment (often over 8 kg), with a powerful engine (1000-2000W) and a stable base. By default, we get a 4-7 liter stainless steel bowl and three types of tips: a dough hook, a whipping rod and a flat stirrer.

Differences in practice

The biggest difference is the comfort of work. The mixer requires our participation – we must keep it in hand and control movement. The planetary robot works alone, we can prepare more ingredients at this time.

With lighter tasks, such as whipping cream or mixing the dough on a sponge cake, both equipment will cope similarly. The difference appears with heavier cakes. The planetary robot can easily make yeast dough or pizza, while the mixer may not cope.

Price and place

Prices are another gap. We will pay PLN 200-300 for a good mixer. A decent planetary robot is a minimum of PLN 600, and better models even cost a good thousand. Added to this is the matter of the place – The mixer can easily be stolen into the drawer, the robot requires more space.

What to choose?

The choice depends mainly on how often and what you cook. If you bake occasionally and you care about the basic functions – the mixer is enough. For people who often bake, they make their own bread or pasta, the planetary robot will be a better choice despite the higher price.

It is also worth paying attention to additional functions. More expensive mixers often have a stand and a bowl in the set. In turn, for robots we can buy starters changing them into a meat machine or juice juicer.
