The average cost of iPhone increased to $ 903 around the world
The average cost of the iPhone in the world has grown recordly. This was reported by the publication of Cult of Mac with reference to the Counterpoint Research (CR) report.
According to experts, in 2024 the ASP (Average Selling Price, average sale cost) for Apple smartphones increased to a record $ 903. Over the four years, the ASP for the iPhone increased by about a quarter – in 2020 this figure was $ 724. According to Consumer Intelligence Research Partners (Cirp), ASP for the iPhone in the United States is $ 1018.
The Counterpoint Research explained the increase in the iphone selling cost by the fact that Apple is more invested in the iPhone Pro smartphone line. Compared to basic devices, they receive more updates and noticeably more attractive characteristics.
The material says that no competitor in the market can approach such a demand for premium models that has been preserved for Apple devices. So, the Samsung ASP gadgets – the main competitor of the American corporation – in 2024 amounted to only $ 299. CR analysts explained that other manufacturers are more invested on the sale of inexpensive phones.
Also, Counterpoint Research calculated that last year Apple brought 46 percent of the world’s income from the sale of smartphones. Samsung’s share was only 15 percent.
Earlier, Counterpoint Research analysts called the iPhone 15 the most sold smartphone of 2024. The top 3 also got the flagships of the Apple iPhone 15 Pro and 15 Pro Max.
