Bloomberg: Apple turned the development of augmented reality glasses
The American Corporation Apple turned the development of compact points of augmented reality. It is reported by Bloomberg.
According to the observer of the agency Mark Gurman, the company stopped the project to develop smart glasses in late January. Apple was going to create a compact headset – an alternative to glasses that would have built -in displays and work with the Mac computer.
Gurman noted that Apple wanted to release the continuation of the supplemented and virtual reality helmet Vision Pro, which was released in February 2024. The company was looking for an idea for creating a less bulky and comparative inexpensive device – Vision Pro was estimated at $ 3499 in retail.
According to sources, initially smart glasses were supposed to work with the iPhone, but the connected smartphone could not provide enough power. Therefore, engineers began to work out the possibility of connecting the device to the computer, but certain problems arose during the tests. Insiders inside the corporation did not call the reasons, since the work on glasses was non -public.
The interlocutors in Apple noted that the head of the company Tim Cook called the Vision Pro helmet exit. However, the corporation employees are disappointed with the device. Also, the abolition of the project of smart glasses “undermines the morale.”
At the end of January, Bloomberg found out that in 2025, Apple will release a smart house equipped with a screen. This will be the first major IT giant device for the smart house.
