The number of Apple gadgets over the year has grown by 150 million

During the report for the first financial quarter of 2025, the head of Apple Tim Cook said that there are more than 2.35 billion active iPhone, iPad, Mac and other Apple devices around the world.

The concept of “active gadget” implies a device connected to the network. The last time – in early February 2024 – the American company reported on the amount of 2.2 billion active devices. Thus, over the year, the number of active gadgets increased by about 150 million pieces.

Macrumors journalists noted that Apple traditionally does not disclose data on the sales of their gadgets in specific regions. Therefore, it is not known in which countries certain branded devices were best sold. They also concluded that one of the most popular Apple products – the iPhone smartphone – a few years ago, a billion units were dispersed.

At the end of January, Apple released a series of updates for its gadgets that correct a dangerous vulnerability. Patches for iPhone, iPad, Mac and other devices close the problem of vulnerabilities CVE-2025-24085 and are mandatory for installation.
