Google criticized Apple’s AI and showed the advantages of its neural network
Google representatives criticized Apple’s artificial intelligence (AI) initiatives during the Made by Google presentation, The Verge noted.
During the August 13 event where Google showed off its new Pixel 9 smartphones, company representatives repeatedly emphasized the advantages of their neural network over competing products. According to The Verge journalists, Google was thus ridiculing Apple services.
Thus, the Gemini neural network turned out to be available worldwide and in 45 languages. For comparison, Apple Intelligence will appear in September and will initially work only for English-speaking users from the United States. The company also noted that all Pixel smartphones have the same set of basic functions, while Apple’s flagship devices differ from the basic ones.
In addition, Google executives said that they were presenting live, not recording. Thus, during the demonstration of AI functions, company representatives had to replace a failed smartphone with a new one. The Verge journalists noted that since 2020, Apple has been recording its presentations and then broadcasting them online.
Earlier, Bloomberg found out that Apple will introduce a cheap iPhone SE in early 2025. The device will have the iPhone 14 design, a powerful chip, 8 gigabytes of RAM and AI support.
