MacRumors: Apple Won’t Release First Foldable iPad in 2025
Apple has postponed the release of its first foldable tablet, scheduled for 2025, MacRumors reports, citing Haitong International Securities analyst Jeff Pu.
In a note to investors, Pu noted that the company had to temporarily freeze the foldable iPad project. According to the expert, Apple was initially confident that the device would appear no later than 2025. Now, the company believes that the foldable device will enter mass production and hit the market in 2026.
Jeff Pu named the problem with the quality of the folding display as the main reason for the production failure. Apparently, the flexible front panel does not suit Apple executives. At the same time, the analyst believes that the problem can be fixed, so the corporation has set a preliminary release date for the device for the second quarter of 2026.
In the article, the expert noted that he believes in the potential of the American corporation. The positive forecast is, among other things, connected with the positive impact on the market of the Apple Intelligence neural network, which will be launched in the fall of 2024, and the release of the iPhone 17 in 2025.
In June, analyst Jeff Pu said that Apple’s first foldable smartphone would feature a single display. The expert believes that the new iPhone will be very similar to the Huawei Mate Xs 2 and will be released in 2026.
