The Central Reserve Bank of Peru (BCRP) said that the 3.1% economic recovery will boost employment during the second half of the year in the various sectors that have already been recording significant progress, such as fishing (20.2%), primary manufacturing (4.5%), agriculture (3.5%), electricity and water (3.3%), commerce (3.2%) – thanks to the rise of e-commerce and the increase in domestic consumption – and construction (3.2%). The other sectors, although they would be growing positively, are below 3.1%.
From July to December, an auspicious development of employability is expected in the aforementioned sectors, highlights Claudio Abdala, commercial director of Adecco Peru. In addition, the launch of various reactivation programs proposed by the Ministry of Economy and Finance (MEF) anticipates new and disruptive business strategies.
“In the context of this economic dynamism, new corporate tactics will have to be much more agile and adaptable, and will involve different challenges, mainly in terms of human resources.a key factor that will allow us to specify and carry out central plans such as improving customer service, expanding operations, diversifying products and services, etc. All of this will significantly contribute to employability levels for the second half of the year,” said Abdala.
However, he emphasises the new challenges that this period will bring with it, and that is that, in addition to having to have staff available to carry out the tasks, a much more personalised service will have to be worked on. In other words, companies will have to include strategies focused on achieving specialisation in their production, logistics and sales processes.
