The enterprise for the production of “high-precision products” has a registered capital of 600 million yuan, or about seven billion rubles. Journalists believe that in this way the company intends to compensate for the damage from being on the US sanctions list. According to the restrictions, the corporation cannot purchase equipment from its foreign partners. In particular, Huawei cannot equip its smartphones with 5G-capable processors, as they are licensed by a number of American companies.
The authors also recalled that in November, top managers of Huawei once again denied rumors about the sale of the smartphone production division. “The king will return in 2023,” said corporation spokesman Yu Chengdong.
