The IKEA notice applies to VARMFRONT 10,400 mAh universal chargers (model number E2038) with date stamp (year week) 2313, 2316, 2318 or 2319, or VARMFRONT 5,200 mAh universal chargers (model number E2037) with date stamp (year week) 2318, 2319 or 2322.
A manufacturing defect has been detected in VARMFRONT chargers. IKEA urges its customers to be careful
“We have received information that some VARMFRONT universal chargers may pose a risk of fire due to a manufacturing defect. This defect only affects products with the date stamps listed above. Therefore, these VARMFRONT universal chargers are being recalled. Customers who have purchased these products should stop using them immediately and contact IKEA for a replacement or refund,” IKEA said in a press release.
VARMFRONT universal chargers with the mentioned date stamps can be returned to any IKEA store for exchange or refund. Importantly, proof of purchase/receipt is not required. IKEA apologises for the inconvenience and advises that more information can be obtained on their website or by calling the toll-free number 22 275 00 00.

The company also emphasizes that not all models of VARMFRONT universal chargers are being withdrawn from circulation. IKEA reminds that they pay special attention to safety issues in the case of their products.
