The intermedia event scheduled for October 2, 2024, sponsored by the Matylda/Łukasiewicz duo, is to be an artistic interpretation of the greatest challenges of modern times. – We plan to create a tender and at the same time brutally honest image of man in the modern world – announces Matylda Damięcka, the artistic director of the event. – We want to show his beauty and ugliness, aspirations and weaknesses, causative and destructive power, and sometimes enormous strength in contrast to such bottomless helplessness towards ourselves – she adds.
Błażej Król and Abradab will also play in Katowice.
The musical director of the event is Radek Łukasiewicz. It will be filled with songs important for contemporary Polish music and songs from the duo’s debut album “Matka”, which have been topping the charts and top music lists since autumn 2023. A band will be assembled for the show, consisting of excellent Polish musicians. Matylda and Łukasiewicz have invited special guests to collaborate: they will be joined on stage by Maria Peszek and Natalia Przybysz, Krzysztof Zalewski, Marcin “Abradab” Marten, Justyna Święs and Błażej Król.
– Climate change concerns absolutely everyone and should be discussed in many areas – also thanks to the artists involved. This year, during the talks, we will focus on adaptations to climate change, pro-environmental challenges of cities, urban planners, architects, circularity in business and finally, climate education – says Wojciech Kuśpik, president of the PTWP Group – one of the organizers of the PRECOP 29 climate conference.
Matylda/Łukasiewicz this time about the climate
Matylda Damięcka is an illustrator, vocalist and visual artist. The musical performances she directs are events on the border between a concert and a musical performance, in which the literary layer intertwines with the musical layer, and the whole is complemented by the visual layer: from the author’s scenography and costumes to theatrical lighting and multimedia. Radek Łukasiewicz is a valued musician, author of many well-known hits and composer of theatre and film music. Together they form the band Matylda/Łukasiewicz, playing songs of unprecedented emotional depth. They say about themselves: “typical millennials, packed with sadness, dilemmas, drowning in everyday life, ordinary and extraordinary”.
The largest climate conference in this part of Europe preparing for the United Nations Climate Summit COP29 in Azerbaijan will be held at the Katowice International Congress Center on October 2-3, 2024. Tickets for the accompanying concert “Earth 2.0. Once Upon a Man” can be purchased online on the event website.
