Bloomberg: Apple to Unveil Robot — First AI Home Device
Apple is set to release a home robot, Bloomberg reports.
According to the agency’s observer Mark Gurman, the company has decided on the first device with artificial intelligence (AI) support for home use. It should be a robot – a compact device that can be placed on a table or any horizontal surface.
Gurman noted that he predicted the robot’s appearance back in April. At that time, the specialist said that the robot presented by Apple could help users around the house, performing various tasks.
The article says that the robot could replace the HomePod smart speaker, another Apple home device. The company first released the HomePod in 2018, and the second generation of the device was introduced in 2023. Apparently, Apple is not going to update the gadget anymore.
According to Mark Gurman, Apple will not introduce a home robot anytime soon, as its development has only just begun. There is a possibility that the device will support Apple Intelligence functions.
Earlier, IDC analysts called the category of smartphones with artificial intelligence support the fastest growing in the mobile device market. Experts believe that 912 million such devices will be shipped to the market in the next four years.
