Przemysław Czarnek lasted only a few minutes in the studio. After one of the questions he got up and left.

Wojciech Mulik from the Goniec editorial office recently had Przemysław Czarnek, former Minister of Education, as his guest. The PiS MP interrupted the interview and left the studio after only a few minutes of conversation. He did not like the host’s questions.

On July 8, Przemysław Czarnek appeared in the Goniec studio. Wojciech Mulik began the discussion with the politician by asking whether he supported the introduction of civil partnerships. The answer was short and to the point. – No – said Czarnek, after which he explained that this was an attempt to oust marriage from the legal sphere and an attempt to circumvent the Constitution, which clearly states in Article 18 that only marriage is under the legal protection and care of the Republic of Poland, and no other unions – the politician clarified.

Przemysław Czarnek stopped the interview after a few minutes. He left the studio

The Goniec journalist noted, however, that another article of the Polish Constitution states that no person in Poland should be excluded or discriminated against. – And how are people who live in threes in one apartment discriminated against? Civil partnerships are absolutely legal in Poland – the former education minister replied and emphasized that “no one forbids anyone to live at home as they wish.”

Wojciech Mulik emphasized, however, that contrary to what Czarnek claims, the European Court of Human Rights ruled that Poland violates human rights. Czarnek immediately interrupted the journalist and stated that he does not have to agree with the opinion of this institution.

The next few minutes of the conversation were an argument about whether same-sex couples are excluded in Poland. The PiS MP emphasized that this was nonsense and noted several times that in order to visit loved ones in the hospital, one can write a special declaration, and that wills are for inheritance matters. He was not interested in Mulik’s argument that the court does not have to consider such documents positively. In addition, Czarnek answered categorically “no” to the question of whether same-sex couples should have the right to care for children, still emphasizing that discrimination against LGBTQ+ people in Poland does not exist.

“You stubbornly want to insult me”

When Mulik cited research results in the conversation that clearly show that raising children in same-sex couples does not negatively affect their development, the PiS MP denied them. At this point, the conversation began to get increasingly tense.

Suddenly Czarnek turned to the viewers of the program: – Thank you very much for this noble conversation, but you stubbornly want to insult me - the PiS MP shook the journalist’s hand, said goodbye and left the studio.
