Bloomberg: Apple to Introduce Affordable Watch Made of Plastic Instead of Aluminum
Apple Corporation has planned to release cheap smart watches made of plastic. This became known to Bloomberg.
According to the agency’s observer Mark Gurman, the company is preparing the SE smartwatch, which has a hard plastic case. This material will replace aluminum, which is traditionally used in a number of the brand’s watches. Thus, Apple intends to save on the production of the device.
Gurman reminded that the current affordable Apple Watch SE smartwatch costs $249, or about 22 thousand rubles. The second generation SE was introduced in 2022.
The specialist also said that this fall the company will announce an anniversary model of smart watches — Apple Watch Series 10. The gadget will get the same design, but a thinner case, a display enlarged to the size of Watch Ultra, a new processor. The device may also get support for the function of detecting hypertension and sleep apnea, but Mark Gurman said that Apple faced difficulties in testing the options.
Gurman reminded that in the fall, Apple smartphones will have support for artificial intelligence (AI). According to the reviewer, the new watch will not receive integration with AI.
Earlier, Chinese insiders said that Apple planned to sell a record number of new iPhones – 100 million units. In 2023, the company planned to sell from 80 to 90 million units of the devices.
