CIRP: Samsung delivered more smartphones to the US market than Apple in a year
Over the past year, Apple has lost its leadership in the American smartphone market. This was reported in a report by CIRP.
During the reporting period, which ended in March 2024, the share of American Apple in the local market was 33 percent. Samsung took the first position with a 38 percent share. Motorola also made it into the top 3.
At the same time, Tim Cook Corporation received more income from the sale of devices than its competitors. This is explained by the fact that the company mainly sold premium devices. Thus, Apple’s share of the US flagship market was 64 percent, Samsung’s share was 42 percent.
CIRP analysts also found that Apple sells more units of its latest smartphones per year than Samsung. Thus, the Korean company’s Galaxy S and Galaxy A line phones, released a year ago or later, accounted for the majority of sales.
Earlier, analysts from the research company Omdia recorded increased demand for affordable smartphones. Thus, the global market for devices cheaper than $90, or about 8 thousand rubles, grew by a record 87 percent over the year – to 34 million units.
