SmartPrix: Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Z Flip 6 will cost more than their predecessors
Samsung Corporation will raise prices for foldable flagships. SmartPrix reports this.
According to insiders, the company planned to raise prices for new foldable smartphones relative to the cost of devices released in 2023. It is expected that all devices will cost at least $100 more than their predecessors.
So, the Galaxy Z Flip 6 clamshell will cost 1100 instead of 1000 dollars for the version with a 256 gigabyte drive. An advanced model with 512 gigabytes of memory will cost $1,220. The Galaxy Z Fold 6 smartphone-tablet will also cost $100 more – $1,900. The top version with a 1 terabyte drive will cost $2,260.
According to sources, Samsung is not going to significantly improve foldable devices. Thus, the Galaxy Z Flip 6 and Galaxy Z Fold 6 will have the same screens and batteries that were used in the Galaxy Z Flip 5 and Galaxy Z Fold 5. The announcement of new Samsung smartphones is expected on July 10.
In early June, Counterpoint Research said Huawei had overtaken Samsung in the foldable smartphone market. In the first quarter of 2024, the Chinese corporation received a 35 percent share, while the Korean company remained with a 23 percent share.
