The creator of Siri spoke about improving the voice assistant

Bloomberg: The creator of Siri said that in iOS 18 the potential of the assistant will be revealed

One of the creators of Siri commented on Apple’s cooperation with the startup OpenAI. Bloomberg reports this.

The Siri voice assistant was created by a team of developers led by Doug Kitlauss, after which the project was bought by Apple and integrated into the iPhone. In a conversation with reporters, Kitlauss welcomed the fact that Apple agreed with the creators of ChatGPT OpenAI, and said that in iOS 18 the potential of the virtual assistant will be revealed.

“There are no longer any technical limitations to realizing Siri’s original vision,” said the specialist. He emphasized that the improved assistant will work exactly as Apple founder Steve Jobs wanted.

According to Kitlauss, Apple agreed with OpenAI because it did not have a ready-made solution for an assistant with support for artificial intelligence (AI). The specialist believes that cooperation with the startup will be aimed at a short or medium term, and then Apple will introduce its own chatbot. Doug Kitlauss noted that the company’s engineers are actively working in this direction.

Earlier, sources from The Information stated that Microsoft was afraid that Apple had agreed with the startup OpenAI on friendship and cooperation. The company believes that this will harm its own projects with OpenAI.
