Novak Djokovic said knee surgery was successful
Serbian tennis player Novak Djokovic on his Instagram (social network banned in Russia; belongs to the Meta company, recognized as an extremist organization and banned in the Russian Federation) spoke about his knee surgery.
The athlete noted that the surgical intervention, which had to be resorted to due to a torn meniscus, was successful. “I will do my best to be healthy and fully fit to return to the court as soon as possible,” Djokovic said.
Djokovic’s recovery dates were previously announced. It was clarified that surgery will not allow him to play at Wimbledon, but he plans to return to the court for the Games in Paris. Umbledon 2024 starts on July 1st. The Olympics will begin on July 26.
On June 4, Djokovic withdrew from Roland Garros. The cause was said to be a right knee injury. Because of her, he was unable to play against Casper Ruud in the quarterfinals.
