9to5Mac: Apple underestimated the power of the iPad Air tablet a month after the announcement

Apple has changed some of the characteristics of its new tablet. Readers of 9to5Mac drew attention to this.

On May 7, the company held a presentation at which, among other things, it presented the iPad Air tablet. At the event, Apple announced that the device has a 10-core graphics chip built into the M2 processor. However, about a month later, Apple quietly lowered the number of cores to nine.

According to media journalists, the company did not comment on changes related to the power of the most important component of the device. Users noticed that updated information appeared on the iPad Air page on the Apple website. At the same time, the official press release was preserved there, which states that the iPad Air chip has 10 cores.

9to5Mac specialists stated that there was no nine-core GPU in the Apple line until now. All M2 computers are equipped with 8 or 10 core graphics chips. Apparently, the company has developed an optimized version of the processor. In conclusion, the authors added that Apple’s motives are unknown, but users are unlikely to notice a difference in power between the two processor models.

At the end of May, Bloomberg columnist Mark Gurman revealed the minimum requirements for artificial intelligence (AI) to work on Apple smartphones. According to him, all AI functions will work on iPhones with at least 8 gigabytes of RAM.
