VideoCardz: Dell ARM-based laptop will get 29 hours of battery life
The American corporation Dell has planned to release a laptop computer based on an ARM processor with record autonomy. This was reported by VideoCardz.
Media authors studied a Dell presentation leaked online, in which company representatives described future computers. Thus, the company intends to introduce Dell XPS 13 series laptops in the near future, which in normal mode will work from 9 to 13 hours on a single charge. The material states that without an Internet connection, the device will be able to play video for 29 hours.
Journalists emphasized that 29 hours is an unattainable indicator for modern computers. So it’s likely that the Dell XPS 13 will have the most efficient battery on the market. For example, the recently released Apple MacBook Air M3 can last up to 18 hours on a single charge.
The presentation clarifies that the record figure was achieved thanks to the use of energy-efficient Qualcomm Snapdragon X Elite processors. The device will also receive a dual OLED panel from LG Display, a new cooling system, support for Wi-Fi 7, and a 1080 pixel webcam.
The document found online is dated August 2023. However, it clearly states that the laptops are scheduled to hit the market in June 2024. The cost of the computers is not disclosed.
At the beginning of May, it became known that Microsoft limited the installation of Windows 11 on smartphones in an update. The authors of XDA explained that the update does not support older devices based on ARM processors.
