The Verge: The last iPad with a button and a headphone jack has been removed from sale
Apple has stopped selling the latest iPad with a Home button. The Verge drew attention to this.
After the presentation of the iPad Pro and iPad Air tablets on May 7, the company stopped selling the iPad 9. This model differed from the others in that it had a physical Home button and a 3.5 mm jack for wired headphones. Thus, the device has been removed from sale and will only be available for purchase at Apple partner stores.
For comparison, the 10th generation iPad received a different design – it lost the Home button and a port for a wired headset. “The iPad 9 also did not have support for the second-generation Apple Pencil stylus, and its design was outdated, but it was still a fast entertainment device that was often sold at a discount,” journalists commented on the removal of the device from sale.
Experts also noticed that the iPad 10 began to be sold at a $100 discount. The cost of the device in US stores is $349, or about 32 thousand rubles.
Previously, Canalys analysts named Apple the leader in the global tablet market. In the first quarter of 2024, the American corporation received a 35.6 percent share.
