Canalys: tablet sales grew for the first time in four quarters
Canalys analysts recorded an increase in sales in the global tablet market. This was reported in a report on the company’s website.
Experts noted that the tablet market showed growth for the first time in the last four quarters. In the first quarter of 2024, sales of such devices increased by 1 percent, reaching 33.7 million units.
The report said the growth was driven by a rebound in consumer spending and a stabilizing global economy. “New market entrants continue to invest in the category, while traditional heavyweights are innovating to engage customers and drive new use cases,” said Canalys research manager Himani Mukka.
The market leader remained the American Apple, which received a share of 35.6 percent. The company has shipped 12 million units of devices to the market. Samsung was in second position with a share of 20.2 percent, and Huawei was in third with a share of 8.1 percent.
Previously, Apple announced the next presentation of gadgets on May 7. The company is expected to present new iPad tablets on this day.
