Fallout, a series of RPG games set in post-apocalyptic America, is in the news again, thanks to the series adaptation that has just debuted on Amazon Prime Video. So far, the series is receiving good reviews (93/100 on Rotten Tomatoes) and there are many indications that there will be a continuation.
Bethesda (the company is a co-producer of the series), the owner of the rights to the brand and the producer and publisher of the latest game installments, is also trying to take advantage of the media hype around Fallout. The studio announced that Fallout 4, a game that debuted almost 10 years ago (!), will receive a next-gen update, which will be available to players later this month. What’s more, it will be free.
Fallout 4 with a big update. What changes await the game?
The new update will appear on April 25 and – as Bethesda announces – it will bring many changes to the gameplay, both for users of new generation consoles (PS5 and XSX) and for those playing on PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4.
Let’s start with the most important thing. The long-awaited 60 FPS mode will finally be available in the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series Previously, they could play Fallout 4 at a higher resolution, but this was possible using the FPS Boost feature provided by Microsoft.
As for PC users, they can also count on new products. The game will now support wide and ultra-wide screen modes and will receive official certification for Steam Deck. All players, including PS4 and Xbox One owners, will be able to count on improvements to the game’s stability and fixes of numerous errors and glitches in quests, of which there were still a lot in Fallout 4.
Interestingly, as part of the update, players will also receive a number of free additions:
- Enclave Survivors Pack
- a package of makeshift weapons
- Halloween workshop package.
