Piper Sandler: 85 percent of young people in the US preferred the iPhone

Piper Sandler researchers talked about young people’s favorite gadgets. This was reported by MacRumors with reference to a company report.

During the study, experts surveyed 6,020 teenagers in 47 US states. The age of the respondents was not specified. Based on the collected results, the authors of the report named the favorite smartphone of young people – it turned out to be the iPhone. It turned out that 85 percent of teenagers preferred it. Of those who don’t yet own an Apple smartphone, 88 percent of teens said they would like to purchase one.

“iPhone ownership and intention to buy an Apple smartphone are near our survey peaks, but below record levels in 2021,” Piper Sandler analysts wrote in a note. Apple’s smartwatches haven’t proven to be as popular as smartphones, with only 34 percent of teens owning a device.

The authors of the study also found that young people in the United States prefer Spotify as a music streaming service—almost two-thirds of the teenagers surveyed use the service. The Apple TV+ online movie theater is not popular among young people—about five percent of respondents used it.

In April 2023, Piper Sandler analysts described Apple’s dependence on its flagship product, the iPhone. According to experts, the success of the corporation is largely due to the increased interest of the younger generation in the flagship iPhone.
