Radio Maryja jammed. The National Broadcasting Council intervenes, Fr. Tadeusz Rydzyk takes the floor

Radio Maryja listeners have been having problems receiving their favorite radio station for several days. Last week, the signal was jammed several times on the Eutelsat satellite, which is then transmitted to VHF station transmitters in Poland. The National Broadcasting Council is intervening in this matter, and the director and founder of the radio station, Father Tadeusz Rydzyk, also spoke.

Last Wednesday, Radio Maryja listeners did not have access to the “Unfinished Conversations” program for 45 minutes – they report. Problems with receiving the station also occurred on Friday. The National Broadcasting Council joined in clarifying the matter.

National Broadcasting Council: Source of jamming outside Poland

“Technicians have significantly increased the transmitting power, but in some places there may still be temporary interruptions in reception,” Radio Maryja reported. Waldemar Gumowski from the radio’s broadcasting department explained that “interference is not permanent.” – It happens that, for example, during the night there were breaks in interference and the signal was, let’s say, clear, but from 5:00 a.m. the interference occurs almost all the time again – he said. The National Broadcasting Council claims that the Radio Maryja signal has been “probably jammed by a strong satellite signal for several days” and adds that “according to the findings so far, the source of the jamming is not located in Poland.” The National Broadcasting Council adds that “the matter is already being investigated by the international organization EUTELSAT IGO,” we read in the statement.

Father Tadeusz Rydzyk: Watch if Radio Maryja still exists

Father Tadeusz Rydzyk, founder and director of Radio Maryja, said that the problem had “passed” for now and added that “the source of the signal interference is unknown. Radio Maryja was not audible throughout Poland and Europe.”

Everything can be destroyed in one moment. Watch if Radio Maryja still exists. I am asking for prayers and vigilance. Let’s not ignore this. Radio Maryja may also go silent

– he said.

– After disruptions, Radio Maryja has been broadcast on a new satellite frequency since Friday. This is a reaction to interference with the Radio signal on the Eutelsat satellite. From there, the signal goes to terrestrial transmitters and then to radio listeners’ receivers. There are no longer any problems with reception – assured Waldemar Gumowski. Wirtualne Media reminds that in the period from September to November last year, Radio Maryja had 2%. share in radio listening in Poland.
