GizmoChina: Xiaomi will add support for the 5.5G transition standard to smartphones
Xiaomi will add support for the 5.5G standard to its new smartphones. This was reported by GizmoChina with reference to the well-known insider Digital Chat Station.
According to experts, 5.5G, also known as 5G-A, is considered a “bridge” between 5G and 6G. The transition standard will provide a tenfold increase in download speeds exceeding tens of gigabits per second and lower latency.
Insider Digital Chat Station said that Xiaomi will be one of the first to add 5.5G support to its smartphones. It is also known that the new standard will be available in Oppo devices. The specialist explained that new features will appear on devices based on Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 and MediaTak Dimensity 9300 processors.
The authors of GizmoChina also talked about the appearance of a satellite communication function on Xiaomi smartphones. In addition, a similar method of data transmission should be added to SU7 brand cars. Information exchange via satellites is already supported by Geely electric cars – in particular, the Zeekr 001 FR and Zeekr 007 models.
At the end of March, Xiaomi Corporation began official sales of the first electric car SU7. The basic version of the model with a power reserve of 700 kilometers was valued at 215.9 thousand yuan, or about 2.8 million rubles.
