The Ministry of Agrarian Development and Irrigation (Midagri) reported that the price of chicken is sold at less than S/7 per kilogram in the wholesale markets of Metropolitan Lima. There are also greater offers of potatoes, cassava, sweet potatoes, broad beans, watermelon, melon and orange, among others.

For example, in the case of the Great Wholesale Market of Lima (GMML), Midagri specifies that the entry of 6,664 tons of products was recorded, including legumes, vegetables and tubers.

Likewise, the entry of 1,090 tons of potatoes was reported, a volume higher by 24.6% in relation to the last four Mondays. Likewise, stocks are at optimal levels for most products.

The main wholesale offers this morning were carrots at S/0.60 per kilogram; yellow yucca, for S/0.93; green mountain bean, for S/0.93; papa canchan, for S/0.96; and yellow sweet potato, for S/1.08.

They also include macre squash, for S/1.48; olluco, for S/1.55; lemon in a bag, for S/1.86; Cusco-type corn, for S/2.02; onion, for S/2.63; katia tomato, for S/2.82, among others.

It should be noted that, given the recovery of chicken supply in Lima, the wholesale price remained between S/7.10 and S/6.90 per kilogram today in live bird collection centers (not wholesale markets), while the egg is sold at S/8.40 per kilogram (last week, the average was S/8.44).

Watermelon, melon and apple, the most economical

Regarding the total supply of vegetables and fruits To the main wholesale supply markets, the entry of 8,962 tons was reported, adding the reports from the Great Wholesale Market of Lima (GMML) and the Fruit Market No. 2 of La Victoria.

In the Fruit Market No. 2 of La Victoria, the entry of 2,298 tons of different fruits was recorded. Today’s main offers are watermelon, for S/0.88; coquito melon, for S/0.96; ordinary apple, for S/1.03.

There are also the Valencia orange, for S/1.15; papaya, for S/1.65; banana cake, for S/1.43; Hawaiian pineapple for S/1.80; Creole avocado, for S/2.02; satsuma mandarin, for S/2.28; and granadilla, for S/2.56, among others.
