The famous computer program has new functions. An interesting update 41 years after its premiere

Microsoft announces an update for the popular text editor in Windows systems. It’s about Notepad. The program will receive a new, useful function.

The famous Notepad is a Microsoft application that we have been using on Windows computers since 1983. This is one of the basic tools, right next to Calculator or Paint. The notebook not only works 40 years after its premiere, but will also get a new, interesting update.

Microsoft is still developing Notepad. There will be a new update with new features

The popular text editor will receive new functions. Microsoft will enrich this program with the ability to check spelling and autocorrect. This option is now available as part of the Windows 11 Insider Preview program. Notepad will automatically underline in red words that may contain errors. When we click on the underlined word or use the Shift + F10 key combination, a drop-down list of suggestions will appear before our eyes. By selecting one of the suggestions, the word underlined in red will update automatically.

Dave Grochocki, principal product manager for Windows Inbox Apps, explained that spell checking is enabled by default for certain file types, but is disabled by default for files associated with encoding. “You can turn this setting on or off globally or for certain file types in the Notepad app settings, or temporarily for the current file in the context menu” – .
