iPhone’s invulnerability to hackers questioned

Macworld: there are practically no viruses for the iPhone, but smartphones can be hacked

Apple smartphones are well protected, but they can still be hacked. This was reported by Macworld.

According to media journalists, there is a widespread belief among Apple technology users that iPhones are invulnerable to hacker attacks. Experts questioned the idea after finding out that information from Apple devices can be stolen.

As an example, the authors of the publication cited the story of Kaspersky Lab, whose specialists’ gadgets were able to be hacked in mid-2023 by installing a modified iMessage messenger on their iPhone. Attackers can also attack a smartphone through malicious scripts in the browser or Calendar application. At the same time, there are practically no viruses for the iPhone, since iOS is considered a very closed system.

According to the authors of Macworld, hackers know that the OS on the iPhone is difficult to hack, so they often attack Apple device users using phishing. In this way, they do not bypass iOS security protocols, but obtain users’ personal data through cunning and deception.

At the end of December 2023, specialists from the Singapore University of Technology and Design (SUTD) discovered a critical vulnerability in more than 700 models of 5G smartphones. The list also includes Apple devices.
