There is no doubt that InPost parcel lockers have caused quite a stir on the courier services market. Suffice it to say that since 2009, when the first parcel locker was installed in Krakow, Rafał Brzoska’s company has launched 21,000 such devices, and InPost’s solution has been copied by almost all of its competitors.
Now the parcel supplier has announced the launch of a new service that will pose a direct threat to Poczta Polska. InPost wants us to send not only larger parcels via parcel lockers, but also, among others: letters.
InPost is launching a mini parcel. The Brzoski company is again attacking Poczta Polska
Do you want to send a letter or document? Someone left a phone charger at your place and is waiting for it? Or maybe you want to give back a book to a friend that you’ve been keeping for too long and you don’t have time to meet?
– we read in the InPost announcement.
As part of the mini parcel service, we can send a letter or small item for a much lower amount than in the case of traditional InPost parcels. It is PLN 11.99 if sent to a parcel locker or PLN 14.99 if you choose the home delivery option. So far, for sending the smallest parcel via a parcel locker, we paid PLN 16.99 and PLN 19.99, respectively.
The dimensions of the Mini Package are maximum: 4 x 23 x 40 cm, minimum 10 x 15 cm, and maximum weight is 3 kg. Importantly, the possibility of sending this type of shipment is only available in the InPost Mobile application. Therefore, we will not send such a shipment from the InPost website.
Send a parcel via a parcel locker not only to another city, but also to the other end of your city, to the person who is waiting for it and whom you do not have time to meet. The parcel will reach the recipient the next day! Don’t stand in line – send via Parcel Locker!
– emphasizes InPost. It’s hard not to get the impression that this last sentence is directly aimed at Poczta Polska. And probably everyone who has had to go to a nearby PP branch with a notice in hand will probably agree with him.
According to InPost, as part of the Mini parcel service we will send, among others: documents or notes, a book, CDs and computer games, a smartwatch, phone accessories, small cosmetics, blocks, puzzles or games.
InPost increased the prices of services. This time for one group of customers
InPost has increased the prices of services for business customers from March 1, 2024. This is according to the price list published on the InPost website. The scale of the increase was 9.9%. Currently, shipping by parcel locker costs PLN 13.33, PLN 15.12 and PLN 19.27 for dimensions A/B/C. At the same time, the prices of courier services for business customers also increased.
Last November, we reported that Rafał Brzoska, president of InPost, said during a conference that his company would introduce an increase in the prices of services for Allegro. The price increase was dictated by an agreement between the companies, which included a provision for annual indexation based on inflation and an increase in salary costs. InPost data shows that Allegro parcels are already delivered to over 20,000 parcel lockers. The company employs over 5,000. employees and has been operating on the market for over 22 years, and more than 7 million people use its applications.
