Artificial intelligence holds potential for many countries that decide to implement it. This is evidenced by a report prepared by , which indicates that the solution can bring significant profits. However, the condition is investment in education and new technologies, which creates challenges for people who want to stay on the labor market.
Artificial intelligence will bring tens of billions of dollars of profit in Poland
The study “Wired for AI” indicated that artificial intelligence can be used in many professions, even those that have little to do with technology. Employers can implement innovative solutions to increase productivity both in companies and offices. As a result, this can translate into improved performance in at least 50 percent of work tasks. As he said, AI solutions can bring benefits to the Polish economy equivalent to the work of 4.9 million employees, whose production value was estimated at USD 90 billion per year.
– As you can see, the potential is great, but to fully exploit the benefits of AI, strategic actions in the field of employee education and training, as well as investments in digital technologies and networks are necessary. Therefore, a lot depends on an appropriately shaped economic policy, said Dorota Gardoń from the Katowice-based BPSC company, quoted by PAP.
Artificial intelligence threatens jobs? “The labor market will have to adapt”
According to experts, improving employee qualifications will maximize economic benefits while minimizing threats on the labor market. Therefore, specialists reassure us that AI will bring additional jobs to the economy, instead of replacing nearly five million people. The task of artificial intelligence would be to take over time-consuming activities, which would free employees to deal with more complex tasks.
The greatest beneficiaries of the popularization of artificial intelligence are expected to be people starting their professional careers and high-class specialists. However, people whose work will be partially automated will face the challenge of acquiring new qualifications. – Undoubtedly, the labor market will have to adapt to the new realities. Some professions may become less necessary, while others, especially those related to information technology and data management, will become more important. Education and training will be crucial so that AI does not constitute competition for employees, but effective assistance – added Dorota Gardoń.
According to reports, the changes have affected, among others, the customer service industry. An example is the Swedish company Klarna, which implemented an AI assistant at the beginning of this year. As a result, he took over two thirds of the connections and tasks that would require the employment of 700 consultants. However, this is not a market where the implementation of artificial intelligence will stop, because Ultima Ratio, in cooperation with Microsoft, is working on introducing it to the judiciary. The technology is to be used, among other things, in the preparation of draft justifications for judgments and the correctness of service of lawsuits. The startup’s representatives estimate that artificial intelligence can reduce the time needed by arbitrators to resolve cases by 98 percent.
