TrendForce: Apple has become the market leader in 5K monitors with a 90 percent share
Apple turned out to be almost the sole player in the market of expensive monitors. This was reported by TechRadar.
Journalists referred to a report by TrendForce, whose experts assessed the global monitor market. Analysts noted that Apple has captured the segment of expensive monitors with 5K resolution – it owns a 90 percent share. This is another market in which the American IT giant has become a leader – earlier IDC experts said that Apple was the leader in the tablet market with a share of 40.6 percent.
The material says that some brands also presented their 5K monitors, but they are in little demand due to their high cost. Monthly deliveries of high-resolution monitors are estimated at 20-30 thousand units.
TrendForce analysts also said that monitor shipments in 2023 decreased by 7.3 percent. Shipments of 125 million units were below pre-pandemic levels, due in no small part to the current global economic crisis. However, in 2024, experts predicted market growth of 2 percent.
Earlier, 91Mobiles insiders said that the new Apple iPhone SE series smartphone will have an enlarged display and USB-C. The device, planned for 2025, will also have a single camera and Face ID with a “monobrow”.
