However, it is difficult to attribute this to layoffs, which should rather be linked to the general IT crisis, which was also followed by a crisis in the gaming industry.

The firing was also carried out by Sony’s biggest rival. from Activison Blizzard and Xbox, which is 8%. employed in the company’s games department. Discord reduced jobs by 17 percent, Unity dismissed every fourth employee. And all this only in 2024. In August 2023, Epic Games laid off 830 people and EA laid off approximately 780 people. To a greater or lesser extent, it also fired BioWare, Ubisoft, Amazon, CD Projekt Red and Sega.
