The EU Omnibus directive imposes specific obligations on all entrepreneurs who conduct stationary and online trade. According to them, sellers must inform about the lowest price of a product or service in the last 30 days before the discount, if a sale is currently taking place. Offers in online stores must also be marked appropriately.
According to the portal’s findings, one entrepreneur and several consumers submitted a notification to the Office of Competition and Consumer Protection in connection with inappropriate practices of the Temu platform. The office then decided that it “had doubts as to the correctness of Temu’s practice.”
– Three of them concern violations of the Omnibus directive – said Kamila Guzowska from the communication department of the Office of Competition and Consumer Protection, quoted by Wirtualnemedia.pl. Consumer complaints included, among others: “misleading regarding the quality and availability of products, the sale of substandard items, as well as presenting prices in Facebook ads other than those applicable on the website.”
The Temu platform is achieving increasingly higher sales results
In the summer of 2023, the Temu platform appeared on the Polish market and gained popularity and crowds of customers without any major difficulties.
