Aluminum, titanium and plastic found inside Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra

A blogger under the nickname JerryRigEverything showed the insides of the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra smartphone. The video is available on the author’s YouTube channel.

The enthusiast demonstrated what parts the device’s body consists of. The back panel was removed using a hair dryer and a knife, then to completely disassemble the smartphone the blogger had to unscrew 17 bolts located inside. At this stage, the specialist discovered that all parts of the gadget are quite easy to detach, since they are held on by clips.

Taking apart the Galaxy S24 Ultra, JerryRigEverything found that most of the internal components of the device are mounted on an aluminum frame. The titanium shell, which covers the outside of the device, is connected to the aluminum base through plastic parts. The author of the video noted the high strength of the flagship and acceptable maintainability.

Finally, the blogger checked the titanium used in the smartphone using an XRF analyzer. It turned out that the material is made of a second-class alloy, while the iPhone 15 Pro body is made of a higher-quality fifth-class alloy. JerryRigEverything suggested that Samsung could spend two to three times less on titanium in the device than Apple – no more than $5.

At the end of January, the author of the PBKreviews blog assessed the strength of the new Samsung flagship. As part of the experiment, the blogger threw the device onto a concrete surface three times, screen down, but was unable to break the Galaxy S24 Ultra.
