ZDNet: Samsung Galaxy S24 smartphones set a sales record in South Korea
Samsung Corporation managed to sell out the Galaxy S24 series smartphones in record numbers. This was reported by ZDNet.
The company said that pre-orders in South Korea, which were collected from January 19 to 25, managed to sell 1.21 million units of devices. For comparison, the previous Galaxy S23 line sold 1.09 million units. The Galaxy S24 series was presented on January 17.
60 percent of pre-orders were for the top-end Galaxy S24 Ultra model. 21 percent of users preferred the Galaxy S24+, 19 percent preferred the base Galaxy S24. Consumers most often chose smartphones in titanium black.
According to ZDNet journalists, however, the Galaxy S24 smartphones could not overtake in popularity the devices of the Galaxy Note 10 line, which went on sale in 2019 and sold 1.38 million copies. However, then the company collected purchase requests for 11, not 7 days.
On January 18, pre-orders for new flagship Samsung smartphones were launched in Russia. The basic Galaxy S24 was priced at a minimum of 90 thousand rubles, the premium Galaxy S24 Ultra – at 147 thousand rubles.
