Kasada: resellers purchased thousands of Vision Pro VR headsets
Resellers in the United States were able to purchase thousands of sets of Apple augmented reality glasses for resale. This is stated in the Kasada blog.
Experts from a company that fights automated bots on the Internet said that resellers literally attacked Apple to purchase the Vision Pro headset. Various technologies of the corporation, which were supposed to thwart speculators, turned out to be useless.
By studying reseller forums and classifieds sites, Kasada analysts found that thousands of Apple headsets were purchased for resale and not for private use. Unknown people used automated bots to buy Vision Pro on a massive scale.
It turned out that the Face ID scanning procedure, which was seen as protection against resellers, was actually intended only for selecting the size of the headset. Also, some people were able to purchase a large number of gadgets in one hand – researchers know of a bot that bought 1,592 sets of AR glasses.
The base version of Vision Pro costs $3,500. According to Kasada experts, on average, enthusiasts resold the headset with a markup of $2,500.
Earlier it became known that Apple has sold out of all stocks of the Vision Pro augmented reality headset. According to analyst Ming-Chi Ko, the corporation sold up to 180 thousand devices.
