A truth that hurts; a heartbreaking response. The Venezuelan Scientific Police reported what motivated a mother to take the life of her two girls before Christmas 2023. The tragic events filled the people of Cabimas Municipality with pain and had repercussions on the rest of Zulia State.
On Tuesday, January 23, 2024, the National Head of the Scientific, Criminal and Criminal Investigation Corps (Cicpc), Commissioner Douglas Rico, reported through his social networks that the woman made the fatal decision to prevent her ex-partner from taking their daughters outside the country .
Rico identified the person accused of the parricide as Roselín Bennet Sandrea, 38, and said the girls were 3 and 4 years old.
They accuse a man of kidnapping, hanging and hanging his 3- and 7-year-old children from a tree: they say he did not accept his wife’s divorce
A mother’s worst decision
According to the police commissioner, the investigative work determined the responsibility of the mother of the little girls, who was “motivated by the fact that the father of the babies told her that he would return to the country and that he already had housing and facilities for the girls.”
Roselín Bennet Sandrea “became furious and to prevent (her ex-partner) from gaining custody, she tied them up with adhesive tape and then immersed them in buckets so that they would drown.”
Christmas nightmare: Woman returned to Venezuela two months ago accused of drowning her 2- and 4-year-old daughters
This tragedy occurred on December 20, 2023 in the home of the minors’ grandparents. The sisters were found by their grandmother. He tried to help them and took them to the Doctor Adolfo d’Empaire hospital, but it was too late.
The girls Fiorella Miel, 4 years old; and Bianca Gisell Arias Sandrea, 2, had been in Cabimas for two months, her grandfather Rafael Sandrea said last December.
This same man stated that the victims’ father had left for the United States.
“They came from Colombia two months ago. She (Roselín) lived there for five years,” Roselín Bennet Sandrea’s father told El Regional del Zulia newspaper.
The perpetrator, detained since December, was placed under the orders of the Public Prosecution Service, according to the national director of the Cicpc.

Cruelty: Stepfather beats his 5-year-old stepson to death, puts the body in a bag of rocks and throws it into a lake with the help of the child’s mother
This is how they react on social networks
Sandy Ortuño: “I can’t stop crying when I imagine the faces of those girls seeing their mother, who had to protect them, covering their little mouths, tying them up, seeing their mother through the water for the last time. This is very sad. There is no shame that compensates for this damage.”
Grace Viloria: “Poor little ones, their last moments of fear and who knows what else will have happened in their short lives.”
Gigy Saavedra: “How much love is needed in this world.”
Delia González: “There are women who take revenge on the man when they no longer want to live with him and who take revenge on their children, especially when they know that the father adores them.”
Patricia Perasso: “Being a mother is not for all women.”
Cinthya Rendiles: “Since the father would not keep them, he preferred to kill his daughters and live with them? How can you tell that he doesn’t have even a little bit of conscience, let alone humanity or mental balance. Not only is he in prison, he is in a psychiatric hospital, this is an aberrant act by a ‘mother’ towards two innocent children.” (JO)
