Smartwatch accuracy determined

Smartwatches from Apple, Google, Garmin and Samsung were accurate when counting steps

Blogger Marques Brownlee tested the accuracy of popular smartwatches. The corresponding video was published on his YouTube channel.

In the experiment, Brownlee tried to determine the accuracy of smartwatches available on the market. The blogger tested the pedometer built into the Apple Watch Ultra, Garmin Fenix 7, Samsung Galaxy Watch and Google Pixel Watch. The author put all the devices on his wrist and walked exactly 1000 steps with them.

As a result, it turned out that the most accurate indicator was demonstrated by Google Pixel Watch – 998 steps. Below are watches from Samsung and Garmin – 994 and 964 steps, respectively. At the end was the Apple Watch Ultra, which counted 955 steps.

Brownlee called the performance of all wearable devices tested satisfactory. He also checked how a cheap five-dollar pedometer calculates activity: the gadget recorded 1,168 steps, that is, almost 20 percent more.

In early January, blogger Marques Brownlee named the Google Pixel 7a the smartphone with the best camera on the market in 2023. The top also included Google Pixel 8 Pro, Google Pixel Fold, OnePlus Open, Samsung Galaxy S23, Samsung Z Flip 5, iPhone 15 Pro.
