9to5Mac: Apple will add two terabytes of memory to the iPhone 16 Pro, but will reduce the speed

In the next generation of iPhone, Apple will add a version with two terabytes of internal memory. This was reported by 9to5Mac.

Media journalists referred to a report by a Korean insider under the nickname yeux1122. According to the specialist, the iPhone 16 Pro will have a version with two terabytes of internal memory. The smartphone will use Qual Level Cell (QLC) standard flash memory.

According to the authors of the publication, current Apple phones have a maximum of one terabyte of built-in memory. They also noted that QLC has lower read and write speeds compared to the TLC format. Thus, the American company may deliberately degrade the iPhone.

The reason Apple will choose QLC drives is because the components are cheap. Thus, the corporation can significantly save on the production of flagships. Apparently, only the iPhone 16 Pro and 16 Pro Max smartphones will receive a version with two terabytes of internal memory. The devices should be released in September.

In mid-January, analyst Jeff Pu said that Apple would increase the minimum amount of RAM in its smartphones. All devices in the iPhone 16 line should receive eight gigabytes of RAM.
